Singer, songwriter and guitarist Bryan Adams rose to worldwide fame during the mid-eighties when his album Reckless became an international bestseller. In addition to his many solo hits, Adams has enjoyed a number of successful collaborations during his career with artists such as Rod Stewart, Sting and Melanie C. In recent years he has also won acclaim as a photographer, releasing a number of well-received books featuring his work. Born in Ontario, Canada in 1959, Bryan Adams was a part of the Canadian rock scene during the Seventies, playing in a number of bands before securing a solo record deal in 1978. His debut album was released two years later but international success would not arrive until his third release, Cuts Like A Knife, performed well in the United States. His fourth album Reckless would prove to be his biggest hit yet, reaching multi-platinum status in both the USA and the UK. The album spawned a number of huge hit singles including Summer of '69, Run to You and It's Only Love, a duet with Tina Turner. In 1991, Bryan Adams broke sales records with the song Everything I Do I Do It For You. Co-written by Adams himself for the soundtrack of the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Everything I Do I Do It For You was a No. 1 hit in countries across the world including the USA and Ireland. In the UK it remained at the top of the charts for 16 weeks, a record that has not been bettered since. Adams has contributed to the soundtracks of many other movies including the song All for Love for The Three Musketeers and Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman, which appeared on the soundtrack of the Johnny Depp film Don Juan DeMarco. These songs, along with Adams' other film soundtrack contributions, have seen the Canadian nominated for three Academy Awards and five Golden Globes. Everything I Do I Do It For You picked up the 1992 Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture.In addition to his own work, Bryan Adams is a prolific songwriter for other artists. During his career, he has penned songs for the likes of Kiss, Neil Diamond and Bonnie Raitt. During his two-year international tour in support of the album Reckless, Bryan Adams opened the show at the American Live Aid concert in Philadelphia.
