  • Manic Street Preachers

Formed in 1991, the Manic Street Preachers exploded into the public consciousness with their uncompromising debut album Generation Terrorists.Originally claiming that all bands should release one classic album and split up, the band thankfully changed their opinions and returned in 1993 with Gold Against the Soul and in 1994 with the classic The Holy Bible. Tragedy then struck when guitarist Richey James Edwards, disappeared. This left the band in limbo, as James had been a driving force behind The Holy Bible's dark content. The band returned triumphantly however with the smash Everything Must Go, which took them to a new level of success. Since then they have become one of Britain's most popular bands, releasing albums This is My Truth Tell Me Yours, Know Your Enemy, Lifeblood and Journal For Plague Lovers.Following 2009's cathartic ‘Journal For Plague Lovers', the Manic Street Preachers announce details of their tenth studio album.  ‘Postcards From A Young Man' will be released in September and is a return to the classic rock roots of ‘Send Away The Tigers' and the arena sized choruses of ‘Everything Must Go'. The band is currently adding finishing touches to the record with producer Dave Eringa at their Cardiff studio. Mixing will take place later this month with Chris Lord Alge in America. To coincide with the release the band will undertake their most extensive UK tour ever, with support from very special guests British Sea Power.      Tour Dates:29 September     GLASGOW, Academy            30 September     ABERDEEN, Music Hall            2 October          EDINBURGH, Corn Exchange        3 October          CARLISLE, Sands Centre        5 October          HULL, City Hall                6 October          SHEFFIELD, O2 Academy        8 October          LIVERPOOL, University            9 October          BLACKBURN, King George's Hall    11 October      LEEDS, O2 Academy            12 October      DERBY, Assembly Rooms        14 October      MANCHESTER, Apollo            16 October      LINCOLN, Engine Shed            17 October      NORWICH, UEA            19 October      SOUTHAMPTON, Guildhall        20 October      SOUTHEND, Cliffs Pavilion        22 October      BOURNEMOUTH, O2 Academy        23 October      NEWPORT, Centre            25 October      BRISTOL, Colston Hall            26 October      BIRMINGHAM, O2 Academy        28 October      LONDON, Brixton O2 Academy        29 October    LONDON, Brixton O2 Academy        31 October      LEICESTER, De Montfort Hall        1 November     CAMBRIDGE, Corn Exchange
